Bear von Lamp CGC and Little Bear von Hoffnung RN have another litter of awesome solid black puppies. The characteristics of both Bear and Little Bear are very suitable to the Candle Hill type. Fearless, Bear also has the willingness to please that we like in our dogs. His dam, Zenzi Gunnhild von Lamp THDN, CGC, CD is a natural Therapy Dog. Bear’s sire, Enno Stasi is world known as characteristic of the DDR lines from Europe. Bear is 100% DDR. Little Bear, herself, is the fruit of generations of our own breeding program. She is altogether wonderful, well structured, pleasing, and solid. Puppies from last year’s breeding are working as Home Protectors, Companions, and even a Service Dog. All puppies will be solid black standard coat. Born July 3, 2024. Two males are still available. Take home date will be August 28. 2024.

This is repeat breeding of Kip, our magnificent West German Import. Kip, Gonzo vom Team Barrett CGC, RN, BVN and Ginger von Hoffnung, daughter of Valiant and Chloe, grandaughter to Cardinal. Kip brings with him the character and pleasing temperament of careful German breeding as well as beauty. Ginger is one of our own. As the daughter to Valiant, she brings his strong and pleasing temperament. As daughter to Chloe, she brings many of the characteristics of Chloe’s grandsire, Cardinal (International Champion Cardinal vom Sparthof CD, RN, RA, BH, THDN, CGC. We are pleased to announce the planned litter of our very dear International Champion Rohan von Hoffnung RN and Bonny Blue. Those of you who know Candle Hill Shepherds, know that Rohan has been producing some of our best dogs over the years. His reknowned characterstics are sensitivity, willingness to please, and affection. That said, his pups Ranger and Nika, in particular, have great drive for work, Protection, Agility, and AKC Obedience where they are earning title after title. Rohan is son to our great dog, International Champion Jake vom Kanas CD, BH, RN, JJ-N, 2007 4H Obedience Champion. The characteristics we adored in Jake are carried forward through Rohan. We are pleased to be adding Bonny to our breeding program this year. She also comes from great dogs and she herself is both pleasing and outgoing with delightful drives for work. We expect puppies to come in both short and long coat, with both Sable and Black and Red coloring likely.
For those who know, this repeat breeding of Valiant (International Champion Valiant vom Kistha Haus CD, RN, RA, BH)and Hazel is one of our quintessential Candle Hill Pairings. It is this pair which produced Big Star and Jessie, both with Medical Alert attributes, and our own Mercy. The backbone of this breeding includes the great blood lines of True Haus and Vom Kistha Haus, as well as Candle Hill Shepherds. These pups will have drive tempered by an inner good sense, willingness to please, courage, dogs that can do according to the training given them. We expect mostly standard coated richly pigmented sable puppies, plus some solid blacks. Coats will come in both long and standard length.

All puppies come microchipped, having had routine deworming, and their first vaccination. Our breeding program is now DM (Degenerative Myelopathy) CLEAR, such that none of our breeding pairs carry the gene for DM. All of our puppies will be DM clear. Furthermore, parents of our puppies have been screened against hip and elbow dysplasia, having had their hips and elbows x-rayed and evaluated by the OFA or SV to be sure that they have healthy bone structure to pass onto their offspring.
