New Puppies!
We have been hoping to get one last puppy from Jake for our breeding program. Jake as you may remember is our daughter’s dog, the one she raised when she was ten years old and then titled during her early teen years, earning his International Championship, 4H Obedience Championship, AKC Obedience title CD, AKC Rally Title, RN, ASCA Agility Title JJ-N, and Schutzhund Title BH, plus one leg towards an AKC CDX. He is your quintessential well rounded German Shepherd, serving not only as our children’s companion, but also able to perform in this broad variety of disciplines. Not only is he fantastic structurally with outstanding hip and elbow health and three V-ratings for conformation, but his temperament is that pleasing trainability and intuitive perception that we seek in our Candle Hill Shepherd breeding program. Jake, with his half brother Max, our dearly loved Search and Rescue Dog, have formed the foundation of our program, with their offspring now in their third generation. With the hopes of one more puppy in mind from Granddaddy Jake, we brought in a new red sable long coat female this spring, an Ellute granddaughter. Ellute von der Mohnwiese SCH III, 2 x BSP, FH1 is a top working line stud, renowned for his high scores in all three phases of Schutzhund: tracking, Obedience, and Protection and for passing his outstanding quality onto his offspring. We were expecting a small litter, given Jake’s age, hoping for one puppy to keep for ourselves.
Well, last night, we saw the results of the work we did with nutrition this past winter. Our new female had not a few puppies; We have 11 healthy new puppies!
This means puppies to share!
In this wonderful puppy mix there will be longcoats as well as standard coats. The colors are the deep red sable, reminiscent of our Max and Wessa litters and Max’s parents, Tag and Dagger’s litters as well. There are also a few beautifully marked black and red pups.
