We will be expecting more puppies in Summer 2024. This will include:
Bear von Lamp CGC and Little Bear von Hoffnung RN are planned to have a repeat breeding for awesome solid black puppies. The characteristics of both Bear and Little Bear are very suitable to the Candle Hill type. Though intense, Bear has the willingness to please that we like in our dogs. His dam, Zenzi Gunnhild von Lamp THD, CD is a natural Therapy Dog. Bear’s sire, Enno Stasi is world known as characteristic of the DDR lines from Europe. Bear is 100% DDR. Little Bear, herself, is the fruit of generations of our own breeding program. She is altogether wonderful, well structured, pleasing, and solid. Puppies from last year’s breeding are working as Home Protectors, Companions, and even a Service Dog. All puppies will be solid black standard coat.
When we imported Shade from Europe, our intent was to one day have her bred to Kip, our magnificent West German Import. Kip, Gonzo vom Team Barrett CGC, RN, BVN brings with him the character and pleasing temperament of careful breeding as well as beauty. Similarly, (Shaddah) Shade Ulmich Team brings a signifcant pedigree of great European dogs. This pair will produce black and red longcoats of outstanding beauty.
We are pleased to announce the planned breeding of our very dear International Champion Rohan von Hoffnung RN and Bonny Blue. Those of you who know Candle Hill Shepherds, know that Rohan has been producing some of our best dogs over the years. His reknowned characterstics are sensitivity, willingness to please, and affection. That said, his pups Ranger and Nika, in particular, have great drive for work, Protection, Agility, and AKC Obedience where they are earning title after title. Rohan is son to our great dog, International Champion Jake vom Kanas CD, BH, RN, JJ-N, 2007 4H Obedience Champion. The characteristics we adored in Jake are carried forward through Rohan. We are pleased to be adding Bonny to our breeding program this year. She also comes from great dogs and she herself is both pleasing and outgoing with delightful drives for work. We expect puppies to come in both short and long coat, with both sable and Black and Red coloring likely.

All puppies come microchipped, having had routine deworming, and their first vaccination. Our breeding program is now DM (Degenerative Myelopathy) CLEAR, such that none of our breeding pairs carry the gene for DM. All of our puppies will be DM clear. Furthermore, parents of our puppies have been screened against hip and elbow dysplasia, having had their hips and elbows x-rayed and evaluated by the OFA or SV to be sure that they have healthy bone structure to pass onto their offspring.
