January 30, Snow

Greetings from the Greater and Whiter Northwest,

Those of you in the southern states will especially appreciate the pictures below.  It seems every other day now that we are getting about ten inches of new snow.  I thought you'd get a kick out of these photos of the dogs plowing through the snow at Candle Hill.

White out as the wind blows the snow off the trees

The dogs are running up our driveway. Notice how high the snow is on either side.  We have a half mile long driveway with a quarter mile of that being up a hill.  It's getting narrower every day.

Hero, Tag, and Ulrika pausing from play.  Notice what is still visible of the five foot high cattle fence by Hero's ears.

Our view from the house.  That is the garden/deer fence to the left.  You've seen many pictures from this angle before, but usually you can see the mountains in the background.  Not today.

Kindra, the pup, lost in a snow bank.

This photo shows the interesting challenge snow can make for fencing.  Those were six foot high fences behind Kindra.  Glad my dogs are trained, because the fences will not hold them in.

Kindra venturing forth.  She is standing on a four or five foot snow pack, sinking only in today's snow.  We have another storm due tomorrow.

So what do the kids do?  "Let's see who can be first to train their dog to pull a sled!"

Happy Winter!
